How to report a lost item in Dubai

Start with the place where the item disappeared, then use Dubai Police’s official lost-item service when a formal report is appropriate.

First narrow the location

Check your route, receipts, ride history and last confirmed use. Contact the relevant mall, taxi operator, hotel, airport, Metro station or building security desk. Give a precise description without publishing sensitive serial numbers or full document details online.

Prepare the report

1. Record the approximate date, time and location.
2. Describe the item, colour, brand and a distinctive feature.
3. Keep purchase evidence, serial number or a photo if available.
4. Use Dubai Police’s official lost-items service ↗ and review the current requirements.
5. Save the report or reference number and update the authority if the item is recovered.

If the item is a bank card or identity document

Contact the issuing bank or authority immediately as well. Blocking financial access and requesting an identity-document replacement are separate from the lost-property report. Never pay a stranger who claims to have the item before you can verify possession safely.

For immediate danger, crime in progress or urgent safety risk, use Dubai Police’s emergency channel—not a routine lost-item form.
