How to Update Emirates ID Details
First decide whether you are changing contact information or correcting core identity data—the routes may differ.
Quick answer: Start with the official service below, use the checklist for your exact case and keep every reference number. Requirements can differ by applicant, vehicle, property or institution.
Define what changed
A new mobile number is not the same as a correction to name, nationality, passport or date of birth. Open ICP’s identity-card services and choose the service that describes the exact change. Do not submit a replacement-card request merely to fix an underlying population-register record.
Prepare matching evidence
Have the valid Emirates ID, passport and residence information ready. For a legal name or other core-data change, use the official supporting document specified by ICP. Ensure translations and attestations meet the live requirement before uploading.
Protect access while updating
Use ICP’s website or smart application and UAE Pass where offered. Never share an OTP with a typing centre, caller or messaging account. If your old mobile number prevents login, use ICP’s official support or service-centre route rather than opening a second identity profile.
Verify completion
A payment receipt or submitted request does not prove the data has changed. Reopen the official record, confirm the updated field and keep the reference number. If a physical card is reissued, confirm delivery only through the listed courier channel.
Check the live authority page immediately before submitting. Service options, requirements and charges can change.
