Your first 30 days in Dubai
Complete the essentials in the right order, keep copies of every document, and use official portals for anything involving identity, immigration or payment.
Keep one document folder
Save clear digital and paper copies of your passport, entry or residence documents, employment documents, Emirates ID application records, health insurance and tenancy papers. Never send identity documents to an unverified contact.
The practical order
- Confirm your legal status. Check your visa and Emirates ID process with your sponsor and the relevant authority. Start from the official UAE portal ↗.
- Arrange a UAE mobile number. Use it consistently for identity-linked services and banking.
- Set up transport. Review official RTA information before choosing or topping up a nol card.
- Open banking carefully. Compare fees, minimum-balance conditions and salary-transfer requirements directly with the bank.
- Verify housing paperwork. Confirm the property, landlord or authorised agent, payment schedule, contract and Ejari process before transferring money.
Do not let urgency replace verification. A genuine process can survive a five-minute check on an official portal.
Before paying anyone
Confirm the recipient name, purpose, amount, refund conditions and receipt. Be cautious when somebody demands immediate payment, discourages official verification, or asks for sensitive codes.
