How to Report a Food Safety Complaint in Dubai

Act quickly, but separate an immediate medical emergency from a regulatory food complaint.

Quick answer: Start with the official service below, use the checklist for your exact case and keep every reference number. Requirements can differ by applicant, vehicle, property or institution.

Handle health first

For severe symptoms or an emergency, seek medical help through the appropriate emergency channel. Do not delay care while collecting evidence. Tell the clinician what was eaten, when, and whether other people are affected.

Preserve useful details

Keep the receipt or order number, restaurant or shop name, branch, date and time, product label, batch or expiry information and clear photographs. Refrigerate a suspect item only if safe and do not taste it again.

Report to the authority

Use Dubai Municipality’s official food-safety or complaint service. State facts in chronological order: what was bought, what appeared wrong, what happened and what evidence exists. Include contact details so inspectors can clarify the report.

Avoid public accusations before verification

A complaint should help the authority investigate. Do not exaggerate, threaten staff or publish private employee details. Keep the reference number and answer follow-up questions; a refund request and a food-safety investigation are separate matters.

Check the live authority page immediately before submitting. Service options, requirements and charges can change.
