How to Renew a Driving Licence in Dubai

Start with the licence record
Check the expiry date, traffic-file details and mobile number in your official RTA profile. If your name, identity record or licence categories are wrong, resolve that first; renewal is not the right route for changing a mismatched identity.
Prepare the eye test
RTA may require an electronic eye-test result from an approved provider. Use the current provider list linked by RTA, take your Emirates ID and make sure the result is sent to the correct traffic file. Ask the centre to confirm transmission rather than relying only on a paper receipt.
Submit and pay
Use RTA’s official website or app, select driving-licence renewal, review the licence information and fees, and choose the offered delivery or digital-document option. Clear any blocking fines or requirements shown by the system.
Check the renewed licence
After payment, confirm the new expiry date and licence categories in My Docs. Save the receipt until the record is correct. If the transaction fails after payment, use the official reference number when contacting RTA; do not start repeated payments.
