How to Transfer a Work Permit in the UAE
Coordinate the old employment record and new employer application when changing private-sector jobs.

Separate the three records
A job change can involve the employment contract, MOHRE work permit and immigration residence status. Closing one record does not automatically complete the other two.
Review the old job cleanly
Keep the contract, payslips, resignation or termination record and written settlement. Do not confirm receipt of salary or end-of-service amounts that have not actually been paid.
Check the new offer
Compare employer name, occupation, basic salary, allowances, work location and contract type before approving the new transaction. Ask the new employer which transfer or new-permit route it will use.
Track both sides
Save cancellation and new-application references, and verify status through MOHRE. Do not begin work merely because a recruiter says the transfer is “in process”; wait for the authorisation required for the new role.
Use only official channels. Never share an OTP, banking password or unrestricted UAE Pass approval with an agent.
