How to check an end-of-service calculation
Start with the employment facts, not an online number. Contract type, service dates, wage basis and the reason employment ended can all affect the result.
Build a clean record
- MOHRE contract and any signed amendments
- Actual joining date and final working date
- Basic wage and allowances shown separately
- Recent payslips, WPS records or bank credits
- Notice letter, resignation or termination document
- Unpaid salary, approved leave and documented deductions
Review in the right order
- Confirm that the employer, contract and dates match MOHRE’s record.
- Separate final salary, unused-leave pay, notice-related amounts and gratuity. They are not one interchangeable figure.
- Use MOHRE’s official information or calculator for the employment category that applies.
- Ask the employer for a written breakdown, not only a final total.
- Compare each line with the contract and evidence before signing a settlement.
Why a quick calculator can mislead
A calculator is only as reliable as its inputs. Free-zone rules, alternative savings arrangements, part-time patterns, unpaid absence or a disputed end date may need a case-specific review. Do not treat a social-media formula as a legal decision.
If figures do not match
Raise the difference in writing and identify the exact line you dispute. If the employer does not resolve it, use MOHRE’s official enquiry or complaint route where MOHRE has jurisdiction. Keep the final settlement, cancellation papers and proof of payment.
Never sign that all dues are received before checking whether the money has actually arrived and whether the breakdown matches what you understand.
