How to check your Dubai visa status online
For a visa issued in Dubai, begin with GDRFA Dubai’s Visa Status service—not a paid agent or an unofficial “visa checker”.
What you can check
GDRFA lists its Visa Status tool for checking the validity of entry permits, residence cards and establishment documents. The result is useful before travel, a job change or any procedure that depends on active residence.
A careful way to use it
- Open GDRFA Dubai from the official gdrfad.gov.ae domain.
- Select Visa Status and choose the document type that matches what you hold.
- Enter the requested file, passport or permit details exactly as printed. Do not guess missing digits.
- Compare the holder’s name, document type, expiry and status with your copy.
- Save the result or reference if you need to discuss a mismatch with your sponsor or an Amer centre.
If the record does not appear
First check whether the visa was issued by Dubai or another emirate. Dubai-issued files are handled by GDRFA Dubai; federal ICP channels handle many files issued elsewhere. A recent application may also need time to update. Contact the issuing authority rather than repeatedly submitting personal data to third-party sites.
A visa sticker or PDF shows what was issued; the authority’s current record shows whether it remains valid. Check the live record when the distinction matters.
Protect your information
Visa files contain passport and identity details. Type them only into an official government service, avoid sending full copies in public messages, and never pay someone merely to reveal a status that the authority provides directly.
